THE INTER-GENERATION PROGRAM

Cultural differences, social environment and a new way of life have seriously threatened the stability of the structure of Vietnamese American families. Harmony, Peace and Love have been wrongly replaced by suspicion, conflict, frustration and indifference. The Inter-generation Program aims at:

• Educating the elders about the American culture, education system and the teenager's psychological and behavioral patterns. Educating youths about the traditional culture.
• Organizing inter-generation recreational activities.
• Developing workshops on inter-generational issues for elders, adults and youths. A book, "A Successful Vietnamese American Family," by our agency has been published to this effect.
